Eco-friendly formulation and a wide range of colours
It is based on linseed oil; the other ingredients are blends of natural waxes, oils and colour pigments, which allow us to offer a wide range of shades as standard. The colours can be mixed with each other, so special colour requests are easy to handle. If 40 standard colours are not enough, we offer further options in the form of reactive and non-reactive products for colouring the wood before the final protective coat. The rest is up to your imagination.

Instructions for use
Maintenance with water and RMC cleaning products can start after 5-7 days. To guarantee a long life and durability of the surface, Rubio® Monocoat products must be used for maintenance.

Sand the wood surface carefully; any previous finish must be
removed. Vacuum and remove remaining dust with RMC Cleaner.
(only for the 2C version with accelerator) Mix the oil with the
accelerator (1-2 minutes) at a ratio of approx. 3:1 (3 parts oil A to 1 part accelerator B).
Once the cleaned surface is dry, spread a small amount of oil
RMC Oil Plus 2C (with a cloth, sponge or polishing machine with a beige pad). Work in sections of 5 – 10 m².
Let the oil react for a few minutes, then wipe off all excess
oil (with a cloth or polisher with a white pad). Wipe each section within 15 minutes. The surface must feel dry to the touch! Finish the whole job the same way.
In a well-ventilated room the surface can be used 24 – 36 hours after application.
Tips and tricks
- The product must NOT be thinned with anything!
- Stir the oil (A) thoroughly before application.
- For large areas and when using several packs, we recommend mixing them together to achieve a uniform shade.

The company Muylle-Facon was founded in 1906. It made high-quality putties and sealants for woodworking companies and glaziers. Over time production expanded into construction chemicals, focusing on water-resistant materials, waterproof coatings and sealants used in construction.

Frequently asked questions
Is Oil Plus 2C safe to use on cutting boards?
We do not recommend using Oil Plus 2C on boards or butcher blocks that will be used for cutting. Rubio Monocoat oil forms a molecular bond with the top microns of the wood. A knife can cut deeper than the product penetrates, exposing raw wood that is prone to mould and/or bacteria. However, because our product is safe for direct food contact, it is acceptable to use it on serving boards and platters.
Can I apply a lacquer over Oil Plus 2C?
We cannot guarantee adhesion, so you need to discuss this with the lacquer manufacturer.
Can I use Oil Plus 2C over our existing finish?
No, Oil Plus 2C must come into contact with raw cellulose to work properly.
How can I get more sheen?
Universal Maintenance Oil can be applied over Oil Plus 2C to raise the sheen level by 6-8%. Universal Maintenance Oil should not be applied to raw wood.
How soon can I apply Universal Maintenance Oil?
You can use Universal Maintenance Oil 48 hours after Oil Plus 2C has been applied correctly.
Do I need more coats for certain wood species?
Since the product does not bond to itself, more coats are not needed. On softer species such as walnut, a second application may be needed to make sure every part of the wood has had the chance to react fully with the oil.
Can I cover floors after finishing them with Oil Plus 2C?
Yes, wooden floors treated with Oil Plus 2C can be covered with non-staining construction paper 48 hours after application. Please remember: never tape directly to the floor. Only tape paper to paper. Covering the floor extends the curing time.
How long does Rubio Monocoat last?
A lifetime with proper maintenance. We would expect the first maintenance to be needed somewhere between 2 and 5 years, depending on wear.
Does Oil Plus 2C work on all wood species?

What is the recommended sanding grit?
The recommended final sanding grit is 120 - 150. We recommend sanding according to industry guidelines.
