    Interior Protection - Wood Finish

    Wood oils and waxes for interiors are the most natural way to protect and beautify indoor wood. Unlike lacquers, they do not form a film on the surface but penetrate the wood structure – preserving its natural look and feel and easy to renew without sanding back.

    They suit furniture, table and kitchen tops, floors and small wooden items. We have split the range by the result you want: clear oils and waxes to keep the natural wood tone and coloured oils for tinting in dozens of shades.

    The most sought-after products include linseed oil for wood, wax oil and natural mineral oil for wood – ideal for wooden furniture, tables and floors. How to choose? For maximum durability pick a hardwax oil, for a traditional matt look choose linseed oil.

    You will find premium brands Rubio Monocoat, Howard and Walrus Oil – many food-contact certified. The section is part of interior wood finishing.

    Frequently asked questions – wood oils and waxes

    Linseed oil or hardwax oil?

    Linseed oil is the traditional, affordable and easily renewable finish with a matt look – but it dries slowly. Hardwax oil creates a surface more resistant to water and abrasion, ideal for tables and floors.

    Which oil for wooden furniture and floors?

    A single-coat oil (e.g. Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C) is enough for furniture; for wooden floors choose oils with an accelerator for higher wear resistance. For kitchen worktops, pick oils certified for food contact.

    How often should wood be re-oiled?

    Furniture every 2–4 years, heavily used floors and tables as they wear – typically once a year locally. Oiled surfaces renew without sanding: just clean and apply a thin fresh coat.
