Frequently asked questions about the "World of Colors and Pigments"

What is the difference between pearlescent and metallic pigments?

Pearlescent pigments create subtle shimmering reflections and depth, while metallic pigments have a more pronounced gloss and higher light reflectivity. All metallic pigments are pearlescent, but not every pearl is metallic.

Can these pigments be used outside epoxy?

Yes, most of the pigments offered are multi-material. They are suitable for epoxy resins, silicone, screeds, paints, concrete and cosmetics – but we always recommend checking compatibility in the product description.

Which pigment should I choose for jewelry making?

For jewelry, pearlescent pigments, chameleon pigments or alcohol inks for subtle effects are ideal. The choice depends on the style you want to achieve – soft pearl, vivid gloss or color transitions.

How strongly do pigments color?

The pigments are highly concentrated. For powder pigments, 0.5–2% by weight is usually enough for epoxy or another carrier. For liquid pigments, adjust the dose according to the desired opacity.

Can I combine several pigments together?

Yes, combining pigments is welcome and common – it lets you create new shades, transitions and effects. We recommend testing on a small sample first to verify compatibility and the resulting shade.
