What makers use it for

It levels itself. It smooths itself.

Crystal Flow is built for thin clear layers — surface coats, laminating and resin art, where perfect wetting is what matters.

Why Crystal Flow

A low viscosity that works for you.

140 mPa·s means the resin levels itself, degasses itself and wets wood, canvas and paper perfectly.

  • Self-levelling and self-smoothing surface
  • Perfect substrate wetting — no patches or streaks
  • UV absorbers + HALS — no yellowing in the long term
  • Very low shrinkage < 0.1 %

DIPON quality

The same DNA as the whole LuminaCast range.

Every LuminaCast system is made at DIPON's own production site in Germany: UV absorbers + HALS additives against yellowing, a formulation free of substances on the sVHC and CoRAP lists, and degassing components more than 70 % from renewable sources.

Step by step

Your first lamination will work out too

1

Check the temperature

Material and surroundings at room temperature. High temperature = fast exotherm, yellowing and cracks.

2

Test the substrate

A preliminary compatibility test of the materials you are going to embed.

3

Weigh out exactly 2:1

Always by weight (100:50). Maximum deviation 0.1 % — more means a sticky film or a soft casting.

4

Mix twice for 3–4 minutes

Mix → pour into a clean container → mix again. Max. 300 rpm, ideally with with an Allway Helix mixer.

5

Pour it out and let it work

A 1–10 mm layer levels itself. You can demould after 16–24 hours.

⚠️ The most common mistake

Never mix by eye straight from bottles A and B. An inaccurate ratio = incomplete curing. Always weigh both components to the gram. Cleaning tools: acetone or universal thinner, immediately after use.

What you ask

Frequently asked questions

How thick a layer can I pour?

1–10 mm in a single layer at 20 °C. Pour taller castings in layers — next layer after 8–12 hours.

Is it suitable for coating a painting or photo?

Yes — the low viscosity wets the substrate perfectly and creates a thin glass-like layer. Always test the substrate for compatibility first.

When can I take the casting out of the mould?

Demoulding after approx. 16–24 hours at 23 °C.

How much will 3 kg cast?

3 kg of mixture (components A + B) equals approximately 2.8 l of casting (density 1.07 kg/l). The calculator above works out the exact amount for your project.

Why is 3 kg the most popular pack?

It is the most versatile balance of quantity and storage — approx. 2.8 litres of mixture covers most common projects.
