EM-2000 Gap-Filler. A thick CA glue that fills the gap and doesn't run.
Starbond EM-2000 Gap-Filler Thick is a clear, high-viscosity super glue with the consistency of honey (2,000 cPs). It fills gaps, voids and joints of 0.25–0.5 mm, stays in place even on a sloping or vertical surface, and thanks to its slower set (20–30 s) gives you time to align the parts precisely. The strongest choice in the range for stressed joints, knots, inclusions and repairs.
Where does EM-2000 sit on the viscosity scale?
2,000 cPs is the consistency of honey — the thickest clear glue in the range before gel. It doesn't run, doesn't soak into porous material and stays exactly where you apply it.

The longest working time in the range: 20–30 seconds to position and align the parts before the joint sets. Once cured, it forms a strong, clear bond suitable even for stressed joints.

The large bottle serves as a reservoir — you decant the glue a little at a time into small applicator bottles with a tip and work from those. The main supply stays closed, cool and fresh for the full 30 months; at the bench you only ever have as much glue as you will use.

How large a gap does EM-2000 fill?
Gaps and joints of 0.25–0.5 mm. Thanks to its honey-like thickness (2,000 cPs) the glue stays in the gap and doesn't run off even on a sloping surface. Fill larger voids in several layers or choose an epoxy adhesive.
How fast does it set and how much time do I have to align the parts?
20–30 seconds without accelerator — the longest working time in the range, so you have time to position and align the parts. With Starbond Super Glue Accelerator it sets instantly.
How does EM-2000 differ from EM-150 Medium?
EM-2000 (2,000 cPs) fills gaps and holds its shape, EM-150 (150 cPs) wicks into joints and fills only small gaps. If the parts don't fit together, you are gluing on a sloping surface or you need time to align them, take EM-2000.
Which materials does EM-2000 bond, and which not?
Wood, metal, ceramics, rubber, leather, stone, fibreglass and most plastics. It doesn't bond polyethylene, polypropylene or silicone; on hard-to-bond surfaces the manufacturer recommends roughening them.
Is super glue the same as CA glue?
Yes. Super glue, instant glue and CA glue all mean the same type — a cyanoacrylate adhesive that sets within seconds by reacting with moisture in the air. EM-2000 is its thick, gap-filling variant.
How should the glue be stored?
For optimum shelf life store it at 4.5 °C or below before and after use, tightly closed. Shelf life is 30 months.

What you ask us about Starbond
How is Starbond different from an ordinary superglue from the shop?
Industrial-grade cyanoacrylate purity, a precisely defined viscosity and fresh batches. An ordinary glue comes in one thickness and you have no idea how long it sat in a warehouse. Starbond has six viscosities from 2 to 2000 cP, each for a different job, and a 30-month shelf life.
Which viscosity should I pick if I’m not sure?
EM-150 Medium. At 150 cP (roughly motor oil) it will both seep into gaps and fill smaller voids — one glue for wood, stone, ceramics, leather and most plastics. Sets in 10–20 seconds.
What is the accelerator for, and do I need it?
CA glue cures with airborne moisture — the accelerator triggers the reaction instantly. It pays off with thick glues, large fills and on dry wood, where the glue would cure slowly. Spray the other side of the joint, not the glue itself.
How should I store Starbond so it lasts?
Cool, dry and tightly closed — ideally in the fridge (let it warm to room temperature before use, or moisture will condense). Wipe the bottle after use so the neck doesn’t glue shut. Unopened, it lasts 30 months.
