EM-02 Super Fast Thin. A water-thin CA glue that gets where others can't reach.
Starbond EM-02 Super Fast Thin is a clear, very thin super glue with a viscosity of 2–3 cPs — as runny as water. Capillary action draws it into tight joints, micro-cracks and pores, where it stabilises fragile material and sets in 2–5 seconds. Woodturners know it as the glossy CA finish on turned pens and handles, model makers as the glue for close-fitting parts.
Where does EM-02 sit on the viscosity scale?
A viscosity of 2–3 cPs is practically water — the thinnest glue in the range. That is why it wicks into joints that are closed to thicker glues and soaks into the porous material it is meant to reinforce.

Which materials does EM-02 bond?
Wood, metal, rubber, leather, ceramics, gemstones, stone and minerals, carbon fibre, fibreglass and most plastics, including 3D prints made of PLA, ABS, PETG and polycarbonate. On hard-to-bond surfaces the manufacturer recommends roughening the surface.
How fast does EM-02 set?
2–5 seconds without accelerator — it is the fastest glue in the range. With Starbond Super Glue Accelerator it sets instantly; the accelerator also stops the glue soaking into porous materials.
What does a viscosity of 2–3 cPs mean in practice?
The glue flows like water. You don't apply it into a gap, but onto the joint of tightly fitted parts or onto a crack — capillary action draws it inside by itself. For gaps and voids choose EM-150 or EM-2000.
How does EM-02 differ from EM-150 Medium?
EM-02 (2–3 cPs) wicks in and stabilises, EM-150 (150 cPs) can both wick in and fill small gaps and is slower (10–15 s). If you are bonding close-fitting parts or doing a CA finish, take EM-02; for most other work EM-150 is more versatile.
Is super glue the same as CA glue?
Yes. Super glue, instant glue and CA glue all mean the same type — a cyanoacrylate adhesive that sets within seconds by reacting with moisture in the air. Starbond EM-02 is its very thin variant.
How should the glue be stored?
For optimum shelf life store it at 4.5 °C or below before and after use, tightly closed. Shelf life is 30 months.

What you ask us about Starbond
How is Starbond different from an ordinary superglue from the shop?
Industrial-grade cyanoacrylate purity, a precisely defined viscosity and fresh batches. An ordinary glue comes in one thickness and you have no idea how long it sat in a warehouse. Starbond has six viscosities from 2 to 2000 cP, each for a different job, and a 30-month shelf life.
Which viscosity should I pick if I’m not sure?
EM-150 Medium. At 150 cP (roughly motor oil) it will both seep into gaps and fill smaller voids — one glue for wood, stone, ceramics, leather and most plastics. Sets in 10–20 seconds.
What is the accelerator for, and do I need it?
CA glue cures with airborne moisture — the accelerator triggers the reaction instantly. It pays off with thick glues, large fills and on dry wood, where the glue would cure slowly. Spray the other side of the joint, not the glue itself.
How should I store Starbond so it lasts?
Cool, dry and tightly closed — ideally in the fridge (let it warm to room temperature before use, or moisture will condense). Wipe the bottle after use so the neck doesn’t glue shut. Unopened, it lasts 30 months.
