Product detailed description
Design Flow 3 kg. Resin for precise design without spreading.
Pack 3 kg — most popular pack — regular making of clocks, trays and geodes. The highest viscosity in the range: pigment artwork will not drift, lines stay lines and thin layers spread only where you want them. Refractive index > 1.59.
The design stays the design.
Design Flow is built for work where nothing may spread — geodes, precise lines, multidimensional textures.
Geode design
Layers and lines hold exactly where you place them.
Clocks & smaller products
Controlled spreading for clean transitions and details.
Decorated trays & frames
Textures and reliefs that keep their shape.

production

The highest viscosity in the range. Nothing drifts.
5500 mPa·s: pigment artwork will not drift, fine details and larger areas stay exactly as you designed them. From embedding fine pigments to multidimensional textures.
- 5500 mPa·s — pigments stay in place
- Thin layers with controlled spreading
- Multidimensional textures and reliefs
- UV absorbers + HALS — no yellowing in the long term

The same DNA as the whole LuminaCast range.
Every LuminaCast system is made at DIPON's own production site in Germany: UV absorbers + HALS additives against yellowing, a formulation free of substances on the sVHC and CoRAP lists, and degassing components more than 70 % from renewable sources.
- UV absorbers + HALS — no yellowing in the long term
- Free of sVHC and CoRAP substances
- The systems in the range combine in a project — each has its role
Parameters you can rely on
Measured at 23 °C, 200 g, 20 mm layer — source: DIPON TDS
Compatible with wood, concrete, glass, metal, glass and carbon fibre fabrics, natural stone, silica sand, marble and granite.
Your first attempt will work out too
Check the temperature
Material and surroundings at room temperature. High temperature = fast exotherm, yellowing and cracks.
Test the substrate
A preliminary compatibility test of the materials you are going to embed.
Weigh out exactly 2:1
Always by weight (100:50). Maximum deviation 0.1 % — more means a sticky film or a soft casting.
Mix twice for 3–4 minutes
Mix → pour into a clean container → mix again. Max. 300 rpm, ideally with with an Allway Helix mixer.
Create without rushing
50 minutes for lines, textures and transitions — the artwork holds. You can demould after 16–24 hours.
⚠️ The most common mistake
Never mix by eye straight from bottles A and B. An inaccurate ratio = incomplete curing. Always weigh both components to the gram. Cleaning tools: acetone or universal thinner, immediately after use.
A set for resin art — resins that belong together
One painting, four roles: base, paint, precise detail and effects. Combine them.

Frequently asked questions
How thick a layer can I pour?
1–20 mm in a single layer at 20 °C. Next layer after 12–16 hours.
How does it differ from other thick systems?
Design Flow has the highest viscosity in the whole range (5500 mPa·s) — it is for work where truly nothing may spread or drift.
When can I take the casting out of the mould?
Demoulding after approx. 16–24 hours at 23 °C.
How much will 3 kg cast?
3 kg of mixture (components A + B) equals approximately 2.8 l of casting (density 1.07 kg/l). The calculator above works out the exact amount for your project.
Why is 3 kg the most popular pack?
It is the most versatile balance of quantity and storage — approx. 2.8 litres of mixture covers most common projects.
